If you need to call your student(s) in for the day, please call the main office at 920-424-0411. If you need to leave a voicemail, please state your student(s) full name, grade, reason for absence and also any symptoms your student may be experiencing. You can also email the school secretary at: brianna.pierce@oshkosh.k12.wi.us for any absences. If you need to pick up your student early for an any reason, please notify the main office ahead of time, so we can make sure to have your student ready for you. As always, please feel free to reach out to the main office with any questions or concerns you may have.

ILLNESS/COMMUNICABLE DISEASE MEMO

In order to promote a healthy environment at school for your children, we ask that you be particularly alert to the beginning signs of illness in your child. Keeping them home during an illness until they are completely well will help prevent spread of illness to others in the school.

The following are some symptoms to watch for:
- Thick mucus from the nose Fever of 100 degrees or higher
- Diarrhea Excessive drowsiness
- Pain that interferes with learning
- Persistent, productive cough
- Vomiting
- Earache
- Red, itchy eyes with discharge
- Undiagnosed rash or open sore
- Sore throat that causes difficulty swallowing

If your child has any of these symptoms at school, you may be contacted, and if so, will be expected to make arrangements to pick your child up from school as soon as possible.  Students must be symptom free for a period of 24 hours before returning to school or engaging in school related activities. If an antibiotic is ordered they must be on that
medication 24 hours before returning to school. Your health care provider or the public health department may determine the need to be out of school for a longer period of time.  If your child is absent from school, please call the school to notify them if it is due to illness or other reasons.  We must have an authorization form signed by you and your doctor if any medication is required during school hours. Medication bottles and doctors’ orders must match. Please contact the school office to obtain this form and further information on the school medication policy.  It is important to update Infinite Campus with correct phone numbers. We must have a working number to contact you and/or someone else in case you are unavailable.

Welcome to the 2025–26 school year!

We’re excited to partner with students, families, and staff to make this year safe, positive, and engaging for everyone.

At Roosevelt, we use PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) as our framework for building a positive school culture. Clear expectations are taught and reinforced in every area of the school day. You’ll notice common language and visual reminders throughout the building, helping all students feel confident and supported. Each classroom also creates a behavior matrix, giving students ownership and a deeper understanding of how expectations help everyone succeed in learning.

Throughout the year, we’ll use behavior data to guide school wide initiatives and social skill themes that benefit all students. In the newsletter, you’ll find updates on lesson topics, positive celebrations, and practical tips for continuing PBIS at home.
