A Note From The Principal

Dear Roosevelt Families,

It’s hard to believe that we have already been back to school for a month. One of the big changes this year is the implementation of our new literacy curriculum. Last year second and fourth grade classrooms piloted Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA), but this year all classrooms are using CKLA as their core literacy curriculum. In the short time we’ve been back to school, we have already had many assessments under way to see how we can best help our students academically and have held conferences for those students who met the criterion for academic support under the state’s ACT 20 law, we had our Open House, our first family event, and as of October 6th, we will have done all types of safety drills as well (fire, tornado and ALICE). It has been a busy month for students, families and teachers!

I hope that you and your family have been able to enjoy the surprising stretch of warmer fall weather before the days start getting shorter and cooler.

Mrs. Armstrong

Some events coming up are:

Fall Dance (October 16th from 6-8)

This has been a Roosevelt tradition for several years and I’m happy to be a part of it this year!

Culver’s Night (November 6th)

By eating at Culver’s the 6th of November, you can support the Roosevelt PTO. More information to come!
