A Note from the Principal
Dear Roosevelt Families,
This year we will be holding some parent teacher conferences on November 11th from 3:15-5:15pm. If your child’s teacher has requested a conference, they have been in contact with you already. Please know some schools follow different schedules for conferences and it may be noted on the district calendar, but Roosevelt will not have any conferences at the end of November. As always, if you have questions or concerns about your child, feel free to contact your child(ren)’s teacher at any time.
Our Thanksgiving Break will take place Wednesday, November 24th through Friday, November 26th. We hope you have a wonderful holiday and will see you back at school on Monday, November 29th.
Sincerely,
Kristin Burgert

Hi families and friends,
Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child's art. There are over 60 products and many are less than $15. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school. Click on the link below and enter the online order code shown on your child's order form or to search for your child's artwork. Then, have fun shopping!

“The Roosevelt Way” Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe
Social Skills Theme
This month, we worked on our listening skills. During Mash Up, each group made a life-size poster of how to be a whole-body listener.
Brain is thinking about what the speaker is saying
Eyes are looking at the speaker
Mouth is quiet
Ears are ready to hear the speaker
Hands are quiet
Heart is caring about what the speaker is saying
Feet are quiet and still
Body is facing the speaker
The posters are on display in the hallways to remind us to practice good listening skills.
We also re-introduced the “Stop, Breathe, Think, Act” poster to help students respond to others when they are calm and have thought about what they should say or do.
School Store
The students were able to shop at the school store with the Beep Bucks they earned so far this year. They practiced counting money and ordered items from a menu. Roosevelt t-shirts, school supplies, headphones, and stuffed creatures, are examples of available items. They can also buy coupons for special privileges or tickets for the raffle. The students will start saving again for next time.
Student of the Month
Congratulations to the following students who earned student of the month honors for October! They modeled the Roosevelt Way by being respectful, responsible, and safe. They receive a certificate and a prize. Their pictures are posted on the bulletin board near the media center for the month.
Charlotte, Colton, Emily, Payton, Anna, Rashad, Rilan, Nora, Nayonce, Osaaf, Alyssa, Evan
Expectation Acknowledgement
Beep Bucks: Students earn beep bucks by following school expectations. Beep bucks are exchanged for money to purchase school store items such as raffle tickets, school supplies and toys.
Feathers: These are given when a whole class follow the Roosevelt Way by being respectful, responsible and safe. The class with the most feathers for the week gets to have the Golden Roadrunner outside their door, along with a reward like an extra recess or a special event day.
