A Note From The Principal
Dear Roosevelt Families,
I cannot believe it is May already! April flew by… and these last 5 weeks of school are going to go by even faster!
Throughout the month of May as students continue their learning, they will participate in and work with teachers on various assessments to track their progress and see their growth in reading, writing, and math from throughout the school year. The best preparation for each of these is for students to keep on learning!
May 25th will be our annual field day (with a rain date of May 30th)! For field day, students move through stations outside with their class playing various games and doing different activities. K-2 students will participate in the morning and 3-5 students will participate in the afternoon. A note will be sent home closer to the day of with more details on what students may need to wear/bring that day (water bottle, tennis shoes, etc.) and an opportunity for adults to sign up to volunteer in helping us make it a success!
May 31st will be our annual cookout and entertainment celebration from our PAL, the Southwest Rotary. We are so excited to be able to have our Rotarians back in school as they grill out for all the students and staff… and then provide surprise entertainment in the afternoon to celebrate another great year of learning and collaboration! More information on the lunch for that day will come home with your child closer to the event.
Finally, our end of the year all school assembly will take place in the morning of the last day of school on June 2nd at 8:30am. We will celebrate and recognize our 5th graders moving on to middle school, recognize different groups for their work throughout our school this year and celebrate the end of another great year as a Roosevelt Family!
Take care,
Kristin Burgert
