A Note From The Principal

 

Dear Roosevelt Families,

 

I cannot believe it is already March and this crazy weather we have been having! Hopefully the more spring-like temperatures are here to stay! Spring break this year will fall at the end of the month beginning on Saturday, March 23 - Sunday, March 31st. School will resume on Monday, April 1st. We hope you all have a restful, fun, and healthy spring break!

Throughout the month of March, 3-5th graders will begin preparing for the Forward Exam. Students will have a chance to practice for the forward exam coming up soon in their classrooms. 4th and 5th grade students will begin taking a few tests the week before spring break (the week of March 18th) and all grades 3-5 will continue after spring break into April. Each grade level will complete 2-3 tests a week until completed to spread it out to avoid testing fatigue and hopefully be more engaged in the testing sessions. More details will come soon on exact testing dates for each grade level so you can plan accordingly for appointments, etc. 

The best thing we can continue to do right now as a school family both at school and home to prepare for the exam is to make sure students are engaging in their school work at school and any homework and continuing to read each day. The more we focus on our planned curriculum, the better and more prepared students will be!
