A Note From The Principal
Dear Roosevelt Families,
I cannot believe it is April already. It is so crazy to think that we have 9 weeks of school left this year.. The time is going to fly by!
The first week in April kicks of Support Staff Appreciation Week! At Roosevelt, we spend this week recognizing all of our amazing support staff members in our building including paraprofessionals, custodians, office staff, health assistants, lunch servers, and crossing guards. We could not do the work we do everyday without them! Their dedication, strong work ethic, smiling faces, and passion for helping our students helps make our school a wonderful place to be. If you see any of those staff members this week, please give them an extra thank you for all they do each day!
Forward Exam testing will be continuing throughout the month of April for students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Please avoid scheduling appointments for your son or daughter during their testing dates/times if at all possible, especially in the morning as that is when we will begin testing each day. Each grade level will complete 2-3 tests a week until completed to spread it out to avoid testing fatigue and hopefully be more engaged in the testing sessions. Feel free to contact your child’s teacher if you need specific testing times for a specific day. The general testing window that remains is as follows:
-
3rd Grade: April 5-18
-
4th Grade: April 4-22
-
5th Grade: April 4-8
Our spring family night event of the year will be on Monday, April 8th from 5-6:30pm. An invitation and RSVP form was sent home the week before spring break. If your family still needs to RSVP, please do so no later than Wednesday, April 3rd. We look forward to a night of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with students and families with activities such as the straw platform challenge, paper chains, essential oil air fresheners, live amphibians and lizards, and much more!
Sincerely,
Kristin Burgert
