Through the generosity of the Oshkosh community, we are able to provide each student in grades K-12 with access to a personal device to be used as an integrated tool for learning. The intent of this initiative is to remove limitations on the learning environment.

Parental Control App: Qustodio for OASD Families

The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) is committed to providing a safe and healthy digital learning environment for all students. As of November 4, 2025, we are pleased to offer families access to the Qustodio Parental App, a tool that provides visibility and control over your student's school-issued device usage outside of school hours.

Fall 2025 Transition: The Qustodio Parent App replaces the previously used GoGuardian Parent app. Qustodio offers similar features to ensure your child develops healthy digital habits at home.

(Families will receive an activation email from Qustodio on November 4, 2025.)

How Qustodio Works on School Devices

Qustodio is a free, optional resource for OASD families that works on your child's district-issued device (Chromebook, etc.).

When your child's device is at home (outside of school hours), the Qustodio app gives you the power to:

Manage Screen Time: Remotely Pause the internet access on the school-issued device to promote focused time for homework, dinner, or bedtime.
Monitor Activity: View reports on your child's browsing history, app usage, and screen time trends on the school device.
Content Filtering: Apply additional, customized web filtering rules during out-of-school hours. (Note: You cannot override the mandatory filters already set by the District.)
Extend Protection: Your free account allows you to add one personal device per child to your Qustodio dashboard for monitoring and control.

Get Started in 3 Steps

If you would like to begin using the Qustodio Parent App, you must register your free account using the email address the District has on file for you.

Go to the Registration Page: Visit the designated school portal at www.qustodio.com/my-school.
Enter Your Email: You must enter the same email address you use for OASD updates (e.g., Infinite Campus Parent Portal). This is how your account is linked to your student's school device.
Complete Setup: Follow the on-screen instructions to create your password and begin using Qustodio.

You can then manage your account via the Qustodio web dashboard or by downloading the Qustodio Parents App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Why did the District switch from GoGuardian Parent to Qustodio?
A: The District moved to a new online safety platform (Linewize) in summer 2025, and Qustodio is the parental control application provided through this new partnership. It provides similar functionality to help families manage devices at home.

Q: Do I have to pay for the Qustodio App?
A: No. Your access to monitor your child's school-issued device and add one personal device is completely free, paid for by the District.

Q: Do I need to install anything on my child's school device?
A: No. Your child's school device is already protected by the necessary software. Setting up your Qustodio account simply grants you access to view reports and manage controls during out-of-school hours.

Q: Are my parental controls active all the time?
A: No. Your ability to pause the internet or apply custom filters is only active outside of the school day. The District's mandated filters and rules remain in place 24/7.
